the week ending Dec. 21, the Turkish polypropylene market grew as demand
increased due to pre-buying activity CFR Turkey's polypropylene fiber spot
price at $1,000/mt. This is up $20/mt from the previous week. Trading
activity improved due to some traders and speculative buyer purchasing PP ahead
the new year. Some expected prices to rise in January as converters resume
production and replenish stock. A trader stated that although demand was
slow and weak, suddenly prices have risen significantly. The supply side
saw overall volumes offered being lower due to a decrease in Egyptian material
available on the market. Producers with high exposure to upstream propane
