AA: Prices were stable on the spot European
Acetic Acid market. Eur1,600-1,625/mt was the price of AA
on June 30, for products from Northwest Europe. This is a small market. Sources said
that although supply was tight, particularly from the US, the majority of the
demand was met by contractual volumes. A producer
stated that customers try to get the best from contract nominations. South Europe
prices were slightly lower week-on-week at Eur1,650-1,675/mt. Saudi
Arabia's chemical producer Saudi International Petrochemical Company (or
Sipchem) restarted its Jubail acetic acid plant of 400,000 mt/year on June 24,
following a turnaround from maintenance work, according to a source. Turkestan
