- Trucks
rise amid US production problems-
January MEG Contract settled Eur60-62/mt on month

European
spot MEG trucks rose in some cases in the first week of 2023, after Lotte
Chemical declared force majeure in glycol supply at its 720,000 mt/year plant
in Lake Charles. This was in line with trading levels at Eur580-660/mt Jan. 5European
truck MEG parcels were seen trading as high as Eur660/mt ($700/mt) FCA Antwerp
this week as buyers scrambled to replenish stocks amid US production issues following
the impact of Storm Elliot on US chemical production. Despite this, the traded
range was seen as wide with final PET consumer demand in Europe remaining
depressed, as trucks also traded as low asEur580-590/mt FCA ARA, with some
indicating that offers were seen no higher thanEur630-635/mt FCA. One
