After
the Nov. 4 rebound, Asian paraxylene dropped below $1,000-1,040/mt once again
as slow demand continued to dampen markets sentiment. On Nov. 9, the
marker fell $15/mt to $996.33/mt CFR Unv1/China and $976.33/mt FBO Korea. This
was due to weak trade momentum. The spread to feedstock naphtha dropped to
$300.75/mt, $5/mt lower than the previous day. The month-to-date spread
fell $59.91/mt to $300.56/mt. This was also lower than the October
average. Market on Close was closed on Nov. 9. Buyers were cautious about
raising their bids. OQ Singapore offered January delivery at $1,000-1,040/mt,
but all of the offers were withdrawn due to falling crude oil prices. Some
sources claimed that this weakness was due to low polyester demand....
