Asian ethylene spot prices fell $10-15/mt on April 22 due to a lackluster
buying environment and weak downstream China sectors. According to market sources, trade discussions were hindered
by buyers seeking prices below $1,300-1,320/mt CFR Northeast Asia, while
sellers preferred $1,320-$1,350/mt CFR Northeast Asia. Sources said that it was difficult to close any trade due to
the large buy-sell price gap. Market
participants indicated that floating contract discussions were becoming more
frequent. Sources say floating contract
discussions were held at a $15-$20/mt premium to CFR NE Asia. Late in the week, a trade was made at $1,250-1,270/mt CFR NE
