Asian Toluene prices higher as demand for gasoline blends increases / Bids for Lotte Titan tender heard around MOPJ plus $70-$80/mt / Rising gasoline demand in the summer months

On May 9, Asian toluene was $10/mt more expensive than the previous close of $651/mt, FOB Korea. It was also $5/mt more expensive at $655/mt, FOB China. A bid for 3,000 mt cargo FOB Korea was made at $650/mt. Any June loading was then heard. The selling indication was around $660/mt. During the trading session, however, no transactions were made. The bids for Malaysia's Lotte Chemical Titan contract that closed on 8 May were in the range of Mean of Japan Naphtha Marker plus $70-$80/mt. The rise in the market on May 9 was attributed by a trader to two factors: the demand for gasoline blends and the return of Indian consumers.
