US Gulf nitration-grade toluene spot prices
and mixed xylenes spots prices dropped further on July 20, amid declining
gasoline futures, and a vessel from Korea octanes. Each July NGT and MX were assessed at 439c/gal,
a decrease of 10 cents. According to data from the US Energy
Information Administration, gasoline blending component inventories rose in the
week ending July 15. Stocks stood at 209.3 million barrels, which was
1.2% higher than the previous week but still 4.4% lower than a year ago. Refinery utilization
declined slightly over the week, falling 1.2 points to 93%. Refinery
rates are up 2.3 points over the year, and 15.8 points more than in 2020.
