- The FOB/CFR spread turns positively- Indian buyers at the sidelines





Asian toluene dropped again on July 14,
amid bearish sentiments and lower upstream prices, which led to the overall
aromatics complex's decline that day. FOB Korea toluene dropped $31-37/mt to $969-1000/mt.
CFR China was down $10-15/mt to $1,010-1,050/mt. Some support came from Chinese
domestic prices hovering over such levels. On July 13,
the CFR China-FOB Korean spread was positive at $20-25/mt, for the first time
since April 5th, when it was at $5-6/mt. India was a
quiet country with no trade discussions. Market participants remained silent,
and adjacent markers fell abruptly with crude oil. An Indian
importer stated that no offers were being made at the moment because prices are
falling sharply. The domestic ex-tank Kandla talks weakened to
Rupee 95-Rupee96/kg on the day...
