Asian toluene slipped $8-9/mt at $913-930/mt
FOB Korea and down $7-8/mt at $951-980/mt CFR China Aug. 16 as a result of the
assessment lay cans rolling over in a backwardation structure, although the
respective lay cans were actually assessed stable-to-a-little-higher due to
reports of tight supply in the market. According to a Chinese trader, buyers in China
are not interested in toluene right now and it is available for export at
approximately $1,000-1,040/mt FOB China. CFR China's
buy interest was estimated at $925-950/mt, with South Korean origin expected to
arrive in September. India was not able to hear of any spot
negotiations. Multiple sources suggested that September
arrivals could be tight, supporting ex-tank numbers. Due to
