Asian toluene was stable at the previous close of $669/mt FBO Korea and $679/mt FBO China on 23 May. A source in Vietnam was heard to say, "Demand remains slow." No one can take the losses anymore", referring to traders that have been sitting with losses for a while. One Southeast Asian trader stated that the cost of freight from Korea to Southeast Asia was cheaper, and that there were fewer cargos coming from China. Another Southeast Asian source also agreed that freight costs had dropped, stating that "freight to Singapore from China is cheaper, I am seeing prices around $40 to $50/mt." On May 23, details about a Chinese cargo bound for Straits emerged, with one source confirming that it was shipped at CFR Straits in "low 700s"....
