Due to continued demand from South Korea
and Southeast Asia, Asian toluene prices rose on June 14. Industry sources say that
there were sporadic July cargoes available, but the offer prices were not clear
due to higher crude. According to industry
sources, Malaysia's Lotte Chemical Titan has issued a 2,000-mt toluene sale
tender for July 17-19 loading. The tender
closes on June 16. China producer was
considering a bid for between 2,000 and 3,000 mt July loading out of Tianjin.
However, the details were still unclear. A
company source revealed that Lotte's Datsun BTX Unit's operating rate has been
reduced. It's now down to 80%. The source stated that if the strike by truckers continues,
