Based on stable pricing
indicators, US spot export caustic soda prices were flat week-on-week on February
15 at $690-670/mt FOB USG. According to a market
source, buyers were not ready to accept an offer of $750/mt-$780/mt FOB for
export volumes. Sources said that tight
supply in the US and worldwide could increase prices due to a series of
turnarounds and operational problems. According
to sources, tight supply is expected to continue into April. Westlake Chemical experienced a power outage at its South
Lake Charles, Louisiana site on February 10, which caused a shutdown of all
