Due to a shortage of supply due to reduced availability, the price of acrylonitrile in Asia increased from week to week, Nov. 26. CFR Far East Asia was $1,220/mt while CFR Southeast Asia was $1,225/mt. According to sources on the market, Asian markets such as China, South Korea, and Unv1 are experiencing a shortage of supply due to limited availability. The tighter supply in China is attributed to plant maintenance and lower operating rates due to technical problems. A major producer in Unv1 has decided to not offer spot cargoes for December due to low inventories as the facility prepares to perform maintenance.
