Asian toluene prices rose on Feb. 24,
following the higher upstream naphtha. Supplies of toluene remain
thin. Sources said that there was a
shortage of toluene due to the low NCC operating rate, but also because
demand is weaker as a result of the recession. Sources said
that the inventories of east China fell by 11,100 mt in the week ending
February 24, at 65,500mt. South China inventories dropped by 3,000 mt and
17,000 mt respectively, over the same period. Sources added.
A March China-origin offer was heard at $1,020/mt and 1,000 mt to 2000 mt.
Letter of credit is available on a 30 day basis. A trade was
heard earlier this week at $930-945/mt CFR Southeast Asia. However, laycan
