Asian paraxylene fell $2/mt to $950.33/mt
CFR unv1/China Dec. 22. After
the bullishness of the previous day, the Asian PX market took some time to
recover as any-February cargo was reduced significantly before the Market on
Close evaluation process. The Dec. 21
paper market saw higher values in Asia due to traders closing their May PTA/PX
paper positions. According to a source,
traders had created positions by buying and selling May PTA paper. This trading
was done in order to close those positions on a day when the market was looking
bullish. The source also said that spreads
were locked on PX-naphtha position. According
to Yuan-based terms, the PX-PTA spread was around Yuan550-600/mt. This was
