Dec. 5. Most participants were still in wait-and-see mode due to uncertain
downstream prospects. A
trader in China said that although some downstream prices, such as styrene
monmer, rebounded last week the weak demand outlook was keeping buyers off the
sidelines. Trade in key derivatives like
polyethylene, styrene monmer and ethylene glycol was expected remain slow in
December. Most participants predicted that spot trade would continue to be slow
while term contract negotiations for 2023 drag on. Several market participants stated that discussions about
