Asian ethylene rose $25-$45/mt on Feb. 17,
buoyed in part by tight supplies. Asian ethylene saw a $25-60/mt price increase
compared to a week before. CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices
rose $25/mt to $935/mt February 17, a 25-$60 increase over the previous week. The price
spread between ethylene and PE was $75-80/mt. This is lower than what the
average breakeven spread of $150/mt is. The Upstream price for CFR Japan
naphtha fell $7.25/mt on the day it was assessed to $713.25/mt February 17. To widen the
gap between naphtha and ethylene, the firm ethylene price was calculated at
$221.75-235.95/mt Feb. 17 is the highest level since January 4, 2023
when it was calculated at $231.50/mt. 17 is the
highest level since Jan. 4, 2023, when it was calculated...
