styrene spot price continued to fall on Dec. 1. This was due to a sharp decline in
the December contract price on Nov. 30, and bearish expectations about the
December contract price. The $961/mt FOB AR was the forward-loading
layman, which was down $38/mt. Soft demand pushed the December contract
price of benzene to $691/mt. This was $168 less than in November. The settlement
of the styrene contract price settlement is expected to show a smaller decrease
than the initial settlements. Participants will need to confirm this further.
