Sources said that the US
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene assessment continued its downward trend
throughout the month due to talk of a healthy supply and lower prices. Spot ABS was evaluated at
136. 5 cents/lb, a decline of 13 cents
over the previous week. Sources said that
pricing could continue to fall in the short term due to a slowdown in market
activity. The domestic US pricing was
discussed at or possibly below the 130-140c/lb level. The price pressure was maintained by talk of a slowdown and
plentiful supply. The price of US styrene
fell on the week upstream. Styrene was
valued at $2,125-2,150/mt on June 14th, $25 less than June 7. Spot acrylonitrile in the USA was $10 less on the week of
June 14 at $2.010-$2,020/mt FOB USGC....
