According to reports, the demand for acrylonitrile butadiene (ABS), was very weak in Asia due to lower end-user
demand. On
a CFR SE Asia basis, selling indication prices were around $1500/mt. According to CFR SE Asia, producers in the region said that
fourth-quarter demand was still uncertain as buyers are not willing to commit
to contracts because of the unstable economic environment. Producers have mentioned that they face high upstream costs,
which have made them operate at rates as low as half of what they used to. This
is similar to Northeast Asia where prices are not expected to rise due to
