Asian ABS Prices Drop $20-25/MT on Week Due to Low Demand■ ABS prices drop tracking Asian styrene monomer■ Low demand acrossAsia The Asia demand for
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene was weak due to buyer anticipation about lower
prices following recent price drops in upstream Styrene. According to producers,
the main reason ABS prices were low was because of weak end-user demand from
buyers. As buyers faced weak end-user
demand, Southeast Asia's demand was extremely low. On a CFR SE Asia basis, selling prices ranged from $1,550/mt
up to $1,600/mt. This wide range was
caused by muted conversations from buyers who were anticipating further price
drops because of the backwardation of styrene. A producer stated that the reason for low demand in
Southeast Asia was lower domestic China prices than imported prices. This was
because domestic China's supply was more affordable...
