On Oct 31, styrene monomer price fell due
to a persistently poor market sentiment. Asian styrene monmer was $24-$29/mt less than the previous
day, at $929-$946/mt CFR China Oct. 31 and at $964-$980/mt FPOB Korea Oct. 31. The FOB China marker was down $18-$23/mt at 990/mt and the
CFR Unv1 marker at 979/mt. However, there was a $50 premium to CFR China. Many sources cited poor Chinese demand as the main reason
for falling prices. Producers also stated
that there has been very little activity, and many sources are preparing for
term contracts for 2023. He also stated
that ABS demand is low, and therefore SM demand remains small. Another source stated that styrene monomer price have
