India Styrene Monomer: Prices stable amid ongoing contract discussions; year-end lull - FOB Korea Benzene stable at $655.67/mt - Domestic Kandla offers stable at Rupees 87-88/kg

The Indian styrene market remained stable for the week ending Dec. 19, amid rising spot offers and stable demand. The weekly styrene monomer CFR India marker down $5.50/mt from the last assessment at $836.50/mt on Dec. 19. The premium to CFR China was stable week over week at $31/mt on Dec. 19, above corroborated buying ideas at CFR China plus $25/mt. An offer of $850/mt CFR India was heard during the Market on Close assessment process, with buying levels heard around CFR China plus $25 from several Indian buyers. Spot trade activity was thin as market participants preferred to wait while contract discussions were in full swing.
