Styrene monomer was down $7.50-8.50/mt in
the day at $975.50-990.50/mt China and $970.50-990.50/mt Korea Nov. 16, as the
marker rolled to take the average H2 December lay cans and the first half. Sources say demand is
stable due to China's lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. Sources said that things will improve with China's opening. Multiple sources claimed that a tender for Middle Eastern
styrene monomer was issued, but it is not known if the process has been
completed. The upstream markets were not
affected. Spot ethylene prices were steady
at $883-900/mt CFR Northeast Asia on the day. However, the benchmark benzene
FOB Korea marker was down $4.66/mt to $824.67/mt on Nov. 16. The January ICE Brent crude oil futures contract rose 1.24/b
to $93.92/b by 4.30...
