styrene price fell on February 17, following sluggish oil and benzene
markets. The price of upstream benzene dropped $25/mt FOB South Korea to
$942.67/mt, while the April ICE Brent futures contract fell $1.95/b to $83.64/b
at 0830 GMT. The week ended in muted trading as many sources continue to
cite poor demand and thin discussions. Sources in India claimed that the
demand has "crash". The domestic ex-Kandla price was estimated
at Rupees 99/kg. A trader estimated that this would work out to $1,156/kg
if you take into account handling, storage, and insurance costs. The
trader said that downstream demand is low and UPR [unsaturated Polyester resin]
