downstream demand. Due
to low demand, production rates in northeast Asia are expected to drop in September. On the basis of a bearish outlook for demand, operating
rates in northeast Asia were reduced to as low as 60% in September. EPS was not heard to have good margins in downstream
markets. However, ABS and PS producers were reported to be suffering losses. Because of the large gap between buying and selling
indications, spot discussions in the export markets remained muted. China's market participants spoke of ample supply, but
buyers were wary about importing...
