India’s acetic acid market rose in the week of July 23 amid persistent tight supply conditions in China and low port inventories, prompting downstream acetyl derivative producers to raise prices for the third time this month as shipping disruptions compounded supply constraints. CFR South Asia acetic acid up $10/metric ton week over week at $495/mt July 23, while FOB China prices were down $5/mt at $495/mt over the same period. India domestic ex-tank prices rose by at least Rupees 9-12/ kg week over week in the range Rupees 69-72/kg amid tight port inventories, market sources said. However, incoming August end arrivals were heard tradable around Rupees 63/kg, sources said.
