The Asian PET market prices fell over the
week ending July 6. Many participants blamed falling upstream mono ethylene glycol and purified Terephthalic Acid prices. Sellers were also under
pressure due to low demand and high inventory. Many sellers stated that there
were not many deals completed during the week. Further pressure was placed on the market by the $104.53-120.25/b
July 6 assessment of ICE Brent futures, which fell from $113.75-130.25/b Jul 5. This affected sentiment and many buyers retreated to the
sidelines in anticipation of further clarity. A producer in China stated that while margins for PET chips
