The US July DDP-benzene price rose by
45.50c/gal from June 27 to 650c/gal, despite continued support for the prompt
month. WTI crude
futures rose $1.95-2.50/b to $109.57-130.50/b on June 27, an increase of 1.81%. Benzene rose 7.53%. The
ratio of benzene to crude was 2.49. 2.49
was the historical average. The annual average for this ratio is 2021. The
level at which benzene has been valued relative to crude is equal. Sources pointed out that benzene has a higher value relative
to crude futures, given the current ratio of benzene to crude. Sources noted that feedstock reformate continues to receive
pricing support despite generally weaker gasoline futures. This is keeping the
