Asian paraxylene rose $22-27/mt to
$1,091.33-1,130/mt CFR China Unv1/China Aug. 11 and $1,071.33-1,100.50/mt FBO
Korea Aug. 11. This was due to firmness in the energy sector and feedstock
naphtha. The
October ICE Brent crude oil futures contract rose $1.62-2.50/barrel to $97.31-102.50/b
as of 0830 GMT Asian close. C+F Japan naphtha rose $15.25-20.50/mt on the day,
to $715-730/mt. Low run rates by
paraxylene producers meant that supply was still limited in the short-term. Sources said that the paraxylene market was supported by low
inventory of feedstock in the downstream market. Paraxylene-naphtha spread increased by $34.33-40.50/mt to
$376.33-400.50/mt Aug. 11, Spread was
$378.5-400.50/mt July 7. Sources expect
