Asian isomer-grade mixed-xylene
prices rose $26-30/mt to $1,115-1,150/mt FOB Korea. This was up $20-25/mt @
$1,125-1,155/mt CFR Taiwan, and up $4-5/mt AT $1,050-1,085/mt China May 5. The
rise in crude oil and increased trading activity for June was aided by firmer
crude oils. A rare CFR Taiwan offer was also made for June at $1,130-1,170/mt
in the Market on Close. This is because the spread between FOB Korean and CFR
Taiwan was narrower. It was assessed at $13-18/mt on May 5, as June FOB Korea
bids continued to rise to $1,115-1,135/mt. Paraxylene rose $18-24/mt to $1,200-1,230/mt CFR
Taiwan/China. The spread between isomer-MX and PX narrowed $8-9/mt, to $84-90/mt. The spread to naphtha increased $28-32/mt from $215-225/mt,
as naphtha dropped $3-4/mt to $895-915/mt CJ...
