Spot acrylonitrile prices in the US fell
$20/mt from Aug. 30 to $1.680/mt FOB USG. This assessment was based upon a trade that
occurred at that level. It also included August acrylonitrile talks in the
$1,630-1.700/mt FOB USGC range. Domestic ACN contracts were assessed
at 5.5 cents more per week at 87.25c/lb delivered. Based on
industry-acceptable formulas, the assessment took into account the August CGP
settlement of 47.5c/lb and the August ammonia CP at $1,100/mt. One source
stated that demand is "mixed but steady" at the moment, as the ABS
industry is conducting turnarounds. According to
the source, "this will drain inventories" and that there will be a
