The US oxo alcohol spot export prices
remained steady during the week of December 7, but domestic prices dropped due
to low trading activity and low demand. According to market feedback, December's buying
appetite is low. Customers are stocking up to avoid having to pay tax on any
material left in their warehouses at the end of the year. As
customers start restocking to fulfill orders for the first quarter 2023, demand
was expected to increase in December and January. A source
stated that some Central and Latin American countries experienced renewed
market interest after being less active in Q3. However, overall normal butanol,
2-ethylhexanol, and 2-ethylhexanol consumption was low. The source
