ACETONE: US spot Acetone was
steady at $910-930/mt (41.28c/lb) FOB USG July 26. Based on pricing indications
that range from $900-920/mt. Domestic acetone contract assessments for truck
and rail cars were down 4.25 cents/lb over the week to 43.50 cents/lb (959/mt),
where sources confirmed that it had settled. Although
imports were thin in July, an additional 5,000 to 6,000 metric tons were
anticipated to arrive in August. Buying volume from Europe was a
popular topic throughout the week. One source reported that July saw a
decrease in operating rates for phenol-acetone, and lower rates are expected to
continue into August. This suggests a bullish outlook for barge markets. However, the
