China's zero coronavirus policy cast doubt
over the Chinese methanol markets Nov. 28, according to sources. They also said
that worries about the government's ongoing pandemic restrictions would stifle
downstream market demand and the domestic economy. Yuan 72-80/mt was the closing price of the
January futures contract on Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange. It closed at Yuan
2,560-2,640/mt Nov. 28, a decrease of the previous session. Spot prices
in the methanol markets have been stagnant at $300-$318/mt CFR China over several
weeks. However, they are expected rise once Iran's natural gas supply is
diverted to domestic heating and methanol production in December. Sources say
