In the week ending Nov. 8, European
acrylonitrile markets saw weak spot activity. Consumers continued to take in
low contractual volumes and did not engage in unpredicted spot market dynamics. Fundamentals remained
dominated by lower production run rates. Producers also resisted the temptation
to limit their activity due to a lack of buyer appetite. Spot pricing remained stable for the third consecutive week,
despite recent market volatility. A
distributor confirmed that there was not much demand for acrylonitrile and
limited spot market activity. "Many customers are taking minimum contract
volumes...supply is long at this time, manufacturers are decreasing
production." Market players are not
seeing much interest in the acrylonitrile butadiene and carbon fiber markets
