As styrene monomer rose higher, the US acrylonitrile butadiene Styrene
assessment continued to climb through the first quarter 2022. Spot ABS was valued at 135.5c/lb ($2,985-3,020/mt), an
increase of 2 cents ($44-50/mt). US
styrene prices increased $59.50 in the upstream sector from February 22 to
$1.572-2.650/mt FOB USG March 1, in line with stronger-benzene. These levels were supported by volatile crude movements and
higher levels of benzene. US spot
acrylonitrile export pricing was stable over the week. Market participants
waited for new supplier pricing and prepared for increases due to firm
propylene monomer rises on the US Gulf Coast. Spot acrylonitrile in the USA was flat at $1,825-1,835/mt
FOB USGC. Sources expect sellers to
