Asian toluene fell $10-15/mt to $894-930/mt
FOB Korea on Aug. 8, and $24-30/mt to $928-950/mt CFR China on Aug. 10, as
domestic Chinese prices continue to fall. The downstream market for benzene was under severe pressure.
It fell $11-16/mt during the day. Toluene
trades on CFR China or FOB Korea basis were not under discussion. However,
domestic Chinese prices were observed to be falling throughout the day. On a import-parity basis, the prompt domestic east China ex
tank price was lowered to Yuan 110-150/mt at Yuan 7,360-7,500/mt. According to a trader, the FOB Korea marker was under stress
