South Asian PP rises due to an increase in trading activity / COPOL Stocking Activity Aids Buying Indications / BOPP buyers anticipate a rise in supply after Ramadan

South Asian polypropylene rates rose during the week ending March 19, due to an increase in trading activity after the Holi festival in India. The PP raffia/injection grades at $975/mt, CFR South Asia is up $5/mt over the previous week. This price is below the lowest sell and buy ideas at $980/mt, and within the range of tradable indicators at $970-$980/mt. This assessment was above the highest indication of buying at $970/mt. The offers for Middle Eastern origin material were either slightly lower or unchanged from the previous week, but those from China increased because of higher freight rates on larger vessels.
