is lowerThe MTBE price dropped to an 11-month low
on Nov. 28, as it fell with NYMEX January RBOB Futures. US Gulf Coat FOBMTBE fell 12.07 cents to
256.88c/gal on Nov. 28. This is the lowest price since Jan.
13, when it was at 255.30c/gal. According to sources, Mexico has seen
a sharp decline in demand for US products, accounting for approximately 80% of
US production. At 29.65 cents per gall, the MTBE premium was
steady over RBOB futures. Nov. 22-23 saw a seller attempt to
place barrels within and outside of the Market on Close assessment process.
This caused the premium to fall sharply. NYMEX
