week ended Jan. 13 saw a sharp rise in Asian solvent mixed xylenes, aided by
higher crude oils and stronger isomer-mx and upstream naphtha markets. The
March ICE Brent crude oil futures contract soared $5.21/b to $84.06/b by the
0830 GMT Asian closing Jan. 13. The benchmark Asian naphtha C+F Japan oil
price was $65/mt lower on the week, at $703.25/mt. FOB Korea was valued at
$841/mt on the intraday value. This is higher than the $840/mt bid for 1,000 mt
any February loading, letter credit at sight basis. There were no trades
or offers. Industry sources claim that China has seen a rise in the demand...
