Asian Solvent mX: up $5/mt in a week due to firmer aromatics upstream Toluene increases $32/mt in a week / China MX Inventory shrinks below 15,000 Mt

On March 28, the price of Asian mixed solvent-grade xylene increased by $5/mt from week to week, reaching $670/mt at FOB Korea. This was due to rising prices in upstream markets and on related aromatics. In Asian trade, May ICE Brent crude rose $1.73/barrel from the previous week to $73.86/b by 0830 GMT on March 28. Toluene also jumped $32/mt to $726/mt at FOB Korea. The market in Southeast Asia is expected to be quieter for a while due to the Hari Raya holiday. Prices were around $760-780/mt, and assessed at $765/mt CFR Southeast Asia. China was not discussed much, but it is expected to be a very active market due to the low MX stocks heard in East China below 15,000 mt and in South China near zero. Other...
