Asian Solvent MX: Stable to Higher Despite Limited Crude Movement, Demand Recovery / Vietnam has heard some demands for recovery / India continues to experience a weak buying mood

Due to limited movements in crude futures and a slight recovery of demand in certain regions, the Asian solvent-MX market was stable to higher in the week ending Dec. 17. Sources say that although solvent-mixed xylene prices in China were higher this week, these gains were limited by an influx. An earlier deal was reported to have been done for $735-$740/mt CFR China. The market fell to higher levels as Thailand-origin material arrived. The tradable indication of January arrival was heard between $700 and $710/mt CFR. This led to the CFR China marker being valued at $705/mt, an increase of $10/mt. Market players in Southeast Asia were divided about the sentiment in the region. A section of the market stated that sentiment was still weak.
