Asian Solvent-MX: Prices fall tracking decline in downstream markets / Front-month ICE Brent futures fall $1.40/mt DOD /Japan’s Oct naphtha cracker runs at 76.2%

Asian solvent-grade mixed xylene $16/mt lower week over week at $649/mt FOB Korea on Nov. 21, tracking a steep decline in the upstream markets. Both crude oil prices and naphtha prices declined from the previous session on Nov. 21. The front-month ICE Brent futures contract fell $1.40/b day over day to $62.54/b as of Asian close Nov. 21, while the C+F Japan naphtha marker was $11.25/mt lower during the same period at $561.875/mt. Aromatics prices tracked the downward movement in upstream markets. The toluene FOB Korea marker was down $19.50/mt week over week at $673.50/mt on Nov. 21, while the isomer-MX FOB Korea marker was $9.50/mt lower over the same period at $698.50/mt, with the spread to solvent-MX at plus $49.50/mt.
