A slowdown in European caustic exports prompted more interest in US volumes US caustic soda exports in Jan-Feb nearly 12% lower on year: ITC



Spot US export caustic
soda prices remained unchanged from week 12 April at $795-$805/dmt FOB USG.
This was based on stable pricing indicators and continued tight supply. According
to company sources, Olin was finishing up turnarounds at its McIntosh unit in
Alabama that can produce up to 550,000 tons/year caustic soda and 500,000
tonnes/year chlorine. It also has its Plaquemine unit in Louisiana that can
produce up 850,000 tons/year caustic soda. According to sources, Olin's Freeport, Texas-based 3
million-mt/year chloralkaline plant was due for a turnaround later in April. Olin didn't respond to a request for comments. Sources indicated that caustic soda supplies were expected
