ACETONE: US spot Acetone fell $100-120/mt
to $810-830/mt (36.74c/lb) FOB USG, Aug. 16, based on price negotiations at
$790-830/mt for the week. Sources had previously confirmed that
the July domestic acetone contract assessment was settled at 43.50c/lb
($959/mt). According to a source, imports of acetone were
still low after a closed arbitration on paper between the US and other regions. The week's
European acetone prices were $743-755/mt FOB Rotterdam. 16 - A
discount of $64-70/mt on US acetone prices. This was due to US shipping costs
not being covered. PHENOL: US spotphenol remained steady at $1.606-2.500/mt
