The Asian propylene market was unchanged on
Sept. 2, the final trading day of the week. This is because buyers were
reluctant to buy materials. The
November ICE Brent crude oils futures contract was $0.74/b higher than the
Asian close, which was $94.92/b at 0830 GMT on Sept. 2. This small increase in
buying interest did not spark any buying interest since buyers weren't in a
rush to purchase materials due to the availability of cheaper domestic material. Shandong propylene fell from Yuan 65/mt to Yuan 6,885/mt Ex-tank. Others hoped for a recovery in September-October, as China
reduced interest rates last week. Initiatives to boost the economy with cash
liquidity would eventually help. China
