Monoethylene glycol prices in Asia were $6-7/mt
less than in the previous session. Discussions trended lower on July 4, in line
with MEG Futures. This was despite ample coastal inventory and low polyester
demand. According to market sources, MEG
inventories in China were more than 1.23million mt. This was an increase of
around 60,000 mt over the previous session. Polyester operating rates dropped
from 59% to 56% in east China. July-arrival cargoes were priced at
$535-$540/mt CFR China while domestic prompt spot cargoes dropped from Yuan 20-40/mt to Yuan 4,280-4,350/mt exp-tank. On July 4, the actively traded
September MEG futures on Dalian Commodity Exchange dropped from Yuan 55-60/mt
to Yuan 4,409-4,500/mt. The September ICE Brent crude oil
futures rose $1.63-2.50/b...
