As thin price talks continued, Asian
butadiene was deemed stable on July 20. According to market sources, Asian butadiene was
deemed bearish due to falling downstream plant operations. According
to some market sources, China's synthetic rubber plant production fell below
70% because of weak demand and negative margins. China's
butadiene inventories have been in a downward trend. According
to market sources, China's butadiene inventories fell by 2,500 mt over the week
to 25,000mt on July 20. This is lower than the acceptable level of around
30.000 mt. South Korea's butadiene imports rose 63% in June
from a month prior to a 10-month high at 17,406 mt on July 20, as an arbitrage
window between China and Korea...
