The year-end trading slump caused a lull in Asian phenol and Acetone markets. This led to tepid discussions. CFR China's marker was down $10/mt on week at $1210/mt Dec. 14. CFR India phenol was flat at $1290/mt. The phenol prices were limited by supply constraints from Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. India's phenol imports decreased 14.7% in October to 21,991 mt. Acetone imports increased 8.4% to 11,642mt over the same time period, according to customs data. According to the latest customs data, South Korea's phenol exports decreased 17.2% in November to 15,425 mt. Acetone exports increased 842.9% over the same period to 19,377mt. The CFR China Acetone marker was down $10/mt on the week at $710/mt Dec. 14.
